Eighteen seniors from the DeKalb County School District (DCSD) have been named as Georgia Scholars for the Class of 2025. The announcement came from the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE), which recognized these students among 145 honorees from across the state. These students will each receive a special diploma seal and a commemorative graduation cord in honor of their achievement.

DCSD Superintendent Dr. Devon Q. Horton expressed pride in the students, stating, “We are absolutely thrilled to see our students shine at the state level. These 18 young leaders have shown remarkable academic ability, dedication to their communities, and exemplary character throughout their high school journeys. They embody the best of DeKalb County, and we look forward to witnessing all the amazing achievements their futures hold.”

The Georgia Scholar program highlights high school seniors who have demonstrated exceptional academic performance and community involvement. These students have completed rigorous courses and served as leaders in both interscholastic and extracurricular activities. The program, coordinated by GaDOE in partnership with local districts and schools, aims to recognize those who exemplify scholarship and service.
