Democratic Representative Jamie Raskin has called for the return of Venezuelan gangsters deported from the United States, citing a hearing in which he criticized the process. Raskin stated that the hundreds of Venezuelan criminals deported to a prison in El Salvador should be brought back.
“I call on my colleagues to demand that the Trump Administration comply with all judicial orders while appealing whichever ones they want to appeal, and to demand the return of people unlawfully taken to El Salvador on that so-called plane full of ‘gang bangers,’” Raskin said during a recent hearing.
The deportation, which included suspected illegal immigrant gang members linked to Tren de Aragua and MS-13, followed an agreement between President Trump and El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele. Raskin contends this action violated American due process.
Raskin also expressed concern over criticism leveled at judges, specifically mentioning Judge James Boasberg. He pleaded, “I especially call on them today to denounce all violent threats, doxxing, online vilification, and threats against our judges.”
Furthermore, during an interview with NewsNation’s Chris Cuomo, Raskin criticized former President Trump for granting pardons to those involved in violence, linking this to a wave of attacks on Tesla vehicles. “This is the kind of civil disorder that has been unleashed in the country and licensed by Donald Trump,” Raskin remarked.
