Kamala Harris and Joe Biden recently held a briefing with senior White House and administration officials to discuss the federal government's response to the Los Angeles wildfires. These fires have resulted in at least 24 fatalities and the destruction of over 12,000 structures, with estimated damages reaching approximately $150 billion.

In response to the crisis, President Biden announced that individuals affected by the wildfires would receive a one-time payment of $770. "People impacted by these fires are gonna receive one-time payment of $770," Biden stated.

During the briefing, Vice President Kamala Harris emphasized patience amid the ongoing crisis. She remarked, "It’s critically important that, to the extent you can find anything that gives you an ability to be patient in this extremely dangerous and unprecedented crisis, that you do."

The statement comes amidst discussions on resource allocation following significant international aid expenditures.
