A fire broke out in Studio City, Los Angeles, late Wednesday night, following another blaze in the Hollywood Hills. Several structures were reported to be on fire in Studio City.
According to a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), the fires in Hollywood Hills and Studio City are not related. The fire department received reports of a four-story structure fire on North Sunswept Drive at 8:52 p.m. The residence was described as "well involved in fire with exposures and vegetation."
The flames caused the four-story home to collapse, and winds carried embers to nearby brush areas. Adam Vangerpen, an LAFD spokesperson, stated around 9:30 p.m., "We did just have the winds pick up again so we are seeing some ember casting from that four-story structure." He added that their aim was to control the situation and prevent it from spreading further into the brush.
In addition to this incident, a significant fire erupted in the Hollywood Hills near Runyon Canyon and the iconic "Hollywood" sign on Wednesday night. This new blaze has been named "The Sunset Fire" and reportedly appeared suddenly.
Both fires have drawn attention due to their rapid spread and impact on local structures.
