President Trump has reiterated his belief that Lee Harvey Oswald "was helped" in the assassination of former President John F. Kennedy. This statement follows the release of 80,000 previously classified documents by the U.S. National Archives related to the assassination.
Trump shared his views during an interview with Clay Travis, founder of OutKick and conservative radio host, conducted on Air Force One.
Travis asked Trump if he believed Oswald personally killed JFK. Trump responded, "I do, and I always felt that," adding, "Of course, he was ... helped."
The president described the recent document release as "somewhat unspectacular," but noted, "Maybe that's a good thing." He did not specify who might have assisted Oswald.
Various theories have long circulated about other possible conspirators in Kennedy's assassination. Speculation includes involvement from Israel, the U.S. government, the Mafia, the CIA, the Cuban government, and even the KGB.
The official account from the 1964 Warren Commission maintains that Oswald acted alone. However, many Americans remain skeptical; polls from 2023 indicate over 60% believe there was a conspiracy behind Kennedy's death.
