Tim Dillon, a comedian and podcaster based in Los Angeles, criticized the city's response to the recent California wildfires during an episode of "The Tim Dillon Show" this week. He expressed frustration over what he described as the government's lack of preparation for the fires, which have devastated large areas of Los Angeles.
Dillon highlighted several issues in his podcast, stating, "Entire swathes of the city are gone. There was no water in the f—ing hydrants. Nobody cleared any of this brush, they didn’t do any controlled burns, they didn’t prepare any of these areas." He attributed these oversights to environmental concerns, suggesting that actions were avoided because "we didn’t want to upset a fish."
This critique follows comments made by President-elect Donald Trump last week when he accused California Governor Gavin Newsom of prioritizing environmental protection over addressing water needs for residents. Trump's remarks echo previous criticisms he made during an interview with Joe Rogan before the 2024 election.
In another part of his show, Dillon speculated on whether the fires could be considered an act of terrorism. The seriousness and tone of his comments varied throughout the podcast.
