Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports, has criticized the Democratic Party following President Joe Biden's decision to pardon his son, Hunter Biden. In a video shared on Twitter/X, Portnoy attributed the Democrats' poor performance in the 2024 election to actions like this pardon and expressed frustration with what he perceives as their moral posturing.

Portnoy acknowledged that if he were in a similar position, he might also use pardon power for his own child. However, he emphasized that his main concern is the perceived hypocrisy and dishonesty from Democrats who have long claimed moral superiority.

In a partial transcript provided by Mediaite, Portnoy stated: “Now, this is the point of this rant. And I’ve been saying it over, and over, and over, and why the Democrats got slaughtered in the election because they think they’re morally superior to everybody else."

He continued by criticizing how some Democrats respond to accusations against them by deflecting attention back to former President Donald Trump: "They always [say] ‘Yeah, bup, bup, bup...Trump.’ Your brain is broken. Your brain is broken,” Portnoy remarked.

Portnoy further argued that Democrats have maintained a narrative of being the party of truth and integrity while accusing Trump of being a threat to democracy. He accused them of acting worse than Trump in some instances: "And then the Democrats...time and again, they’re worse than anything Trump has ever done."

Concluding his remarks with strong language against Democratic lecturing on morality, Portnoy urged people to see through what he describes as deceptive practices: "It’s not that. It’s the lecturing...pretending they’re the moral righteous authority."

The video concludes with Portnoy expressing his desire never to hear lectures from Democrats about moral high ground again.
