Hollywood filmmaker Rob Reiner has announced that he has checked himself into a facility for peace and relaxation following the outcome of the 2024 election. Reiner, known for his outspoken political views, shared this decision on the social media platform Bluesky.
"I have made the decision to take the next few days to check into a facility for peace and relaxation. No phones, social media, no trolls, just calmness to heal my pain," Reiner posted.
Reiner's move comes amid his criticism of what he describes as "MAGA scum" who have joined Bluesky after several Hollywood personalities left Elon Musk’s X following Donald Trump's victory over Vice President Kamala Harris. Reiner expressed his discontent with the influx of Trump supporters on the platform, stating, "This platform is vile, racist and evil. It did not take long for MAGA scum to come spread their lies."
He further added in another post, "Anyone continuing to post hate towards me here will be blocked. I escaped the other place for a more peaceful time." Reiner also revealed that he is experiencing difficulty sleeping due to concerns about future political events.
In light of these developments, some observers suggest that avoiding social media might benefit Reiner's well-being. The director has yet to comment further on his decision or how long he plans to stay at the facility.
