California Governor Gavin Newsom has reportedly purchased a $9.1 million mansion in Kentfield, Marin County, through an LLC named MHBD Farms. The limited liability company was formed just two days before the transaction, according to reports.

The home, which previously belonged to Daniel Pritzker, cousin of Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, was initially listed for $10 million but was sold at a reduced price. SFGate noted that the six-bedroom residence boasts luxury features such as floor-to-ceiling windows and a chef’s kitchen. Its exterior includes a swimming pool and views of Mount Tamalpais.

Newsom's spokesperson, Izzy Gardon, had earlier stated in June that "to ensure continuity in their children’s education, the family will split their time between Sacramento and Marin heading into the coming academic year." However, at that time it was not confirmed if Newsom would acquire property in Marin County.

Jennifer Van Laar from RedState highlighted the use of a Registered Agent service by Newsom for the LLC instead of his usual Plumpjack registered agent. This decision follows scrutiny over previous property dealings.

Questions remain regarding the funding source for this purchase and whether Newsom will bear the annual property tax exceeding $117,000 since ownership is under an LLC.
