Efforts to improve the watershed system in DeKalb County are set to continue with the launch of the 2nd and 3rd Avenue Sewer Improvement Project in Decatur. This project is scheduled to commence on Monday, April 21. The construction hours are planned from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding major holidays.

The project, focused on replacing sewer lines and manhole structures, is expected to last about nine months, from April 2025 to January 2026, assuming no weather-related delays.

Community members interested in learning more about the 2nd and 3rd Avenue Sewer Improvement Project, part of a Consent Decree, can attend a virtual meeting. This meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, April 15, at 6:30 p.m., via Zoom at https://dekalbcountyga.zoom.us/j/87557013187.
