An investigation is underway regarding a proposed Islamic community near Dallas, Texas, following serious allegations and concerns raised by a retired police lieutenant. The project involves an Islamic mega-city, designed to be compliant with Sharia law, raising red flags that have caught the attention of Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

Lt. (Ret.) Douglas Deaton, known for his expertise in SWAT activities, gave public testimony highlighting the already ongoing nature of the development. Deaton's findings include 74 homes restricted only to Muslims linked to the East Plano Islamic Center (EPIC), a large mega-mosque, and schools adhering strictly to Sharia law. There is also mention of UIF Corporation, which offers financial services that comply solely with Sharia law.

Deaton pointed out, “I urge everyone to visit their website and see for yourself what they say about instituting Sharia.” He emphasized that the development is open about its beliefs and intentions. The retired lieutenant describes the current realization as Phase One, with the project named EPIC City being Phase Two.

Governor Greg Abbott has expressed concerns, investigating the legality of constructing without building permits, “They talk about doing all this building, but they don't have any building permits to actually do any building.”

Texas authorities, including the Texas Rangers, have initiated a criminal investigation. Abbott made a firm statement on social media, emphasizing that "Sharia law is not allowed in Texas," and asserting the need for assimilation into American culture, thereby opposing the creation of culturally isolated communities.

The situation continues to evolve as state agencies conduct their inquiries into EPIC City.
