On Thursday night, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer made headlines during an interview on MSNBC with Chris Hayes. During the discussion about the House-passed spending bill, Schumer used a controversial term to describe Republicans.

Chris Hayes commented on political strategies by stating, "The only people they — the only thing they understand is meeting conflict with conflict." He mentioned Doug Ford in Ontario as an example of using tariffs as a strategy to get attention and response from opponents.

In response, Schumer agreed with Hayes's approach and elaborated on his plans to oppose Republican policies. He said, "No, Chris, we are going to conflict with them on everything — on the tax cuts for the billionaires. They’ve become a plutocracy. An oligarchy."

During his comments, Schumer referred to Republicans as "bastards" before attempting to retract his statement by saying, "Sorry, these people." He emphasized that avoiding a government shutdown would allow Democrats to focus on their main issues against Republicans.

Schumer’s remarks quickly spread across social media platforms after being shared by Townhall.com along with a clip of the interview.
