The DeKalb County Sanitation Division has announced its upcoming spring household hazardous waste recycling event. Scheduled for Saturday, March 15, 2025, the event will take place from 8 a.m. to noon at the Central Transfer Station located at 3720 Leroy Scott Drive in Decatur, Georgia.
This event offers county residents the chance to safely dispose of various hazardous household items that are no longer needed. Items such as aerosols, batteries, adhesives, flammables, lawn care products, fluorescent light bulbs, photo chemicals, paint and related products, as well as artist supplies will be accepted for disposal. It is important to note that paint disposal is limited to 10 gallons per vehicle.
Certain materials will not be accepted during this event. These include agricultural waste, ammunition, radioactive materials, pharmaceuticals, biohazardous and biomedical waste.
Participation in the recycling event is free but is restricted to DeKalb County residents only. Attendees may be asked to provide proof of residency.
