DeKalb County Fire Rescue is hosting the Blazing Brave Girls Camp, a one-day event designed for high school girls aged 14 to 18. This free event will take place on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the DeKalb County Fire Rescue Academy in Decatur, Georgia.

The camp aims to introduce young women to firefighting through a series of hands-on activities, promoting confidence, teamwork, and leadership skills. Participants will engage in exercises such as dressing in firefighter gear, performing "hands only" CPR, ladder climbing, and using a fire hose. The event also provides a platform for attendees to meet experienced female firefighters who will share their professional experiences.

Darnell Fullum, Fire Chief of DeKalb County Fire Rescue, stated, "We want to inspire young women to consider careers in firefighting and public safety. This camp is about empowerment, confidence, and showing these young women that they are capable of anything."
