The DeKalb County Board of Registration and Elections is seeking public input on proposed changes to polling site locations. The aim is to enhance efficiency and accessibility. A community meeting hosted by DeKalb Voter Registration and Elections (DeKalb VRE) will be held on Wednesday, February 5, at 6 p.m. This meeting will take place at the DeKalb VRE office in Decatur and will also be available via livestream on DCTV.

To facilitate broader participation, three satellite locations have been set up where voters can watch the meeting and provide feedback:

- Northlake-Barbara Loar Library, Tucker

- Chamblee Library, Chamblee

- Wesley Chapel-William C. Brown Library, Decatur

Keisha Smith, executive director of DeKalb VRE, emphasized the importance of community feedback: “As part of our ongoing commitment to delivering the gold standard in elections, DeKalb VRE is proposing strategic updates to optimize polling locations,” she said. “We value community feedback and insights as they are essential in shaping our recommendations to the board."

The review process included evaluating polling sites that may be underutilized or difficult to access due to a lack of amenities like restrooms or proximity to public transport. The proposal involves relocating and consolidating some sites for better voter experience.

If any changes are approved by the DeKalb BRE, affected voters will be reassigned to nearby polling places to minimize inconvenience. These adjustments are intended to reflect minimal changes across different regions within DeKalb County.

Details about the proposed changes will be presented during the meeting on February 5th. Feedback from attendees both in person and online will be welcomed. Afterward, a presentation detailing these proposals along with a public survey will be accessible on the DeKalb VRE website.

For further information, individuals can contact DeKalb VRE via phone or email.
