In response to anticipated severe winter weather, the DeKalb County School District (DCSD) has announced an asynchronous independent learning day for Tuesday, January 21, 2025. Students will engage in assignments from home using materials supplied by their teachers. This measure allows education to proceed without live instruction.

All DCSD employees are expected to work remotely on this day. Furthermore, all school activities and athletic events have been canceled.

The district expressed gratitude for "everyone’s understanding and cooperation as it prioritizes the safety of our students, staff, and families." The DCSD will keep a close watch on the weather conditions and will issue updates if further schedule adjustments become necessary.
