DeKalb County has announced the opening of four warming centers in response to forecasted cold weather. These centers will operate 24 hours a day, starting at 8 p.m. on January 14 and continuing until January 17 at 8 a.m. The locations include Frontline Response International, Tobie Grant Recreation Center, Mason Mill Recreation Center, and Exchange Recreation Center.

An additional overnight-only warming center is available at North DeKalb Senior/Community Center in Chamblee. It will open from January 13 at 8 p.m., with special transportation provided each morning to one of the round-the-clock centers.

Transportation pickups for Frontline International are scheduled from various locations, including Chamblee Library and Avondale Fire Station No. 3. Other pickup points include sites in Decatur and Stone Mountain.

Frontline Response International offers centralized services such as hot meals, beds, and case management for those needing assistance during extreme weather conditions. DeKalb County provides transportation from all its warming centers to Frontline for residents wishing to access these services.

It is important to note that DeKalb County fire stations will not serve as overnight warming centers; however, Avondale Fire Station No. 3 will act as a transportation pickup location.

Residents requiring homelessness assistance or housing services can reach out to DeKalb County Coordinated Entry by calling (404) 687-3500. Further information about the centers is available on the county's website.
