Adam Carolla, a celebrity affected by the recent California fires, has shared his perspective on how these events might influence state politics. In a video broadcast from his hotel room, Carolla discussed the potential political shift to the right due to the fires' impact.
Carolla emphasized that while the most affected areas are traditionally Democratic strongholds, residents will face significant challenges when rebuilding their homes. He suggested this process might lead to a change in political views among those residents.
“You guys all voted for Karen Bass, the mayor of Los Angeles. You all voted for Gavin Newsom, and now you fucking get what you get. Now that your house is on fire," he stated. Carolla predicted frustration with regulations and bureaucracy could lead some voters to support candidates like Rick Caruso or others with Trump-like policies.
He continued, “When they start getting the regulation, they’re going to go nuts... They’re going to find out they’re going to get bit by their own snake." Carolla expressed confidence that even staunch Democrats might reconsider their political affiliations after dealing with governmental hurdles during reconstruction efforts.
The video was shared by Eric Abbenante on Twitter/X and drew comparisons to similar situations in places like Lahaina, Hawaii.
