DeKalb County Board of Ethics schedules public meeting for December

The DeKalb County Board of Ethics is scheduled to hold its regular public meeting on December 19, 2024, at 6 p.m. The gathering will take place at 178 Sams Street, Room A1201-A & B in Decatur, Georgia.

The agenda for the meeting includes several key items. The board will start with a call to order and proceed with the adoption of the agenda. Administrative matters will be addressed next, including the approval of minutes from the October 17, 2024 meeting. The Ethics Officer's monthly report will be presented alongside discussions on the proposed budget for 2025 and the calendar for ethics board meetings in that year. Additionally, there are proposed changes to the DeKalb County Ethics Code that will be reviewed.

A preliminary case titled "Robert Sims v. DeKalb County Fire Department" is also on the docket. Following this, time has been allocated for public comments and remarks from members of the Board of Ethics.

An executive session is planned to discuss pending litigation and personnel issues. Motions related to convening and adjourning this session as well as approving an affidavit for it are included in this part of the meeting.

The date for the next regular meeting has been announced as January 16, 2025.
