DeKalb County has announced the opening of four warming centers for residents due to anticipated cold weather. These centers will be operational from Thursday, November 28 to Tuesday, December 3, starting at 8 p.m. The locations include Frontline Response International on Gresham Road in Atlanta, North DeKalb Senior/Community Center in Chamblee, Mason Mill Recreation Center, and Exchange Recreation Center.

Transportation services will be available to Frontline Response International according to a specified schedule. Pickups are arranged at various locations including Chamblee Library and Avondale Fire Station No. 3 among others.

Frontline Response International is contracted to provide assistance during extreme weather conditions. Unlike traditional warming centers in DeKalb County, centralized services such as hot meals, beds, and case management are offered at Frontline. Transportation from all county warming centers is provided for those who wish to access these services.

It should be noted that DeKalb County fire stations will not serve as overnight warming center locations. However, Avondale Fire Station No. 3 will act as a transportation pickup point to Frontline.

Residents needing homelessness assistance or housing services can contact DeKalb County Coordinated Entry at (404) 687-3500. Additional information about the centers can be found on the DeKalb County website.
