Democrat megadonor John Morgan recently appeared on News Nation with Chris Cuomo, criticizing Kamala Harris for spending over a billion dollars in campaign funds. Morgan expressed dissatisfaction with the Harris campaign's financial decisions, which included lavish expenditures and continuous advertisements in regions where victory seemed unlikely.
Morgan asserted that this approach "disqualifies her forever" from future political endeavors. He remarked, "If you can’t run a campaign, you can’t run a country." When questioned by Cuomo about possible misappropriation of funds, Morgan responded, "Well, maybe legally."
Morgan elaborated on the reckless spending during the campaign: "She had all this money coming in. She had all these consultants, and if you don’t run the ads, you don’t get paid for the buy. They were running ads in Florida, where I live, nonstop. And I’m like, why? I mean, are they running in Alabama and Idaho too? And I’ll tell you why. If you don’t run the ads, the buyer doesn’t get paid."
Some media reports suggest Harris might consider another presidential bid in 2028 despite her current struggle to clear over $20 million in debt. This situation supports Morgan's viewpoint regarding her financial management during campaigns.
