Forbes reported that during the week of November 11 to 17, Hallmark Channel's "Countdown To Christmas" programming elevated it to the third most popular channel in primetime and total-day viewership. It trailed only Fox News and ESPN, with an average of 810,000 viewers during primetime and 479,000 viewers throughout the day. The network has consistently increased its audience since launching its holiday movie lineup on October 18.
In light of these developments, questions arise about CNN's financial decisions, such as Anderson Cooper's $20 million salary, given that audiences are choosing holiday movies like "Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story" over political coverage.
The Hallmark Channel's success underscores its seasonal appeal as it continues to draw significant audiences away from traditional news networks during this period.
