DeKalb County will open four warming centers for residents from Wednesday, November 20, to Friday, November 22, due to expected cold weather. The centers will operate from 8 p.m. at the following locations: Frontline Response International on Gresham Road in Atlanta, North DeKalb Senior/Community Center in Chamblee, Mason Mill Recreation Center on McConnell Drive, and Exchange Recreation Center on Columbia Drive.

Frontline Response International is contracted to provide services such as hot meals, beds, and case management during extreme weather conditions. Unlike traditional warming centers in DeKalb County, these services are centralized at Frontline. Transportation is available from all warming centers to Frontline for those who wish to access these services.

It is important to note that DeKalb County fire stations will not serve as overnight warming center locations. However, Avondale Fire Station No. 3 on N. Clarendon Avenue in Avondale Estates will act as a transportation pickup location for Frontline.

Transportation pickups are scheduled at various locations including Chamblee Library and D&K Suit City Parking Lot among others. Specific times are provided for each location to ensure smooth transit to Frontline International.

Residents needing homelessness assistance or housing services can contact DeKalb County Coordinated Entry by calling (404) 687-3500. Additional information about the centers offered by DeKalb County and its community partners can be found at www.dekalbcountyga.gov/weather.
