President Trump engaged in an unexpected question-and-answer session with reporters in the Oval Office on Monday night while signing executive orders and issuing pardons related to the January 6 riot. The event lasted approximately 45 minutes, during which Trump fielded questions from the media. This marked a notable shift from what some described as a more reserved approach by former President Joe Biden.

Will Scharf, who served as one of Trump's personal attorneys last year and is now White House staff secretary, assisted by handing Trump binders containing the executive orders and pardons. Scharf provided explanations to both Trump and the attending reporters about each document.

Matt Viser of The Washington Post noted, "President Trump sits and takes question after question from reporters in the Oval Office, something that almost never happened with President Biden."

Mike Glenn from The Washington Times commented on Twitter: "To see President Trump just sitting there chatting with reporters while signing a stack of Executive Orders is pretty striking when compared to how Biden operated over the last four years."

Axios reporter Marc Caputo shared an anecdote: "Amazing TV just now, reporter just asked Trump if Biden had written him a letter and Trump opened a Resolute Desk drawer and found it. He almost opened it and read it in front of everyone but opted not to."

Kellie Meyer from NewsNation reported: "President Trump’s first impromptu press conference and he took A LOT of questions as he signed a slew of executive orders in the Oval Office. He just got back into the White House moments before."

A video shared by CSPAN captured Fox News reporter Peter Doocy asking if Joe Biden left him a traditional letter addressed simply to “47” in the Resolute Desk.

During this session, Trump answered inquiries on various topics including J6 pardons, family pardons associated with Biden, foreign policy issues, Elon Musk's ventures, DOGE cryptocurrency, among others.
