Healthevent

Georgia Piedmont Technical College issued the following announcement on July 29.

The practical nursing program at Georgia Piedmont Technical College has been named one of the best in the state by PracticalNursing.org. GPTC ranked fourth among the 21 community, technical, and private schools surveyed. PracticalNursing.org reviews first-time pass rates of the NCLEX-PN (National Council Licensure Examination – Practical Nursing), which is used by state boards of nursing around the country for testing proficiency and granting licensure. The pass rates were analyzed going back to the most recent data available up to five years. If schools had the same overall pass rates after being ranked, other aspects of the program were considered including the number of students taking the NCLEX-PN and the number of years data was available. Georgia Piedmont’s practical nursing program scored a 97.40 out of a possible 100. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the average salary for licensed practical nurses in the metro Atlanta area is about $44,000 annually.
