The DeKalb County Sanitation Division is organizing a free paper shredding event on May 17, 2025. The event will take place from 8 a.m. to noon at the Sanitation Division’s Central Transfer Station in Decatur, Georgia.

Residents of DeKalb County can bring various types of documents, including sensitive personal ones such as old tax records and legal documents, for on-site shredding. Each participant may bring up to ten standard-size boxes of paper for disposal. The shredding services will be executed by A1 Shredding & Recycling.

The event is exclusively available to DeKalb County residents, and proof of residency might be required upon request. For further details, residents are encouraged to contact the Sanitation Division’s Customer Care team or check the division's website and social media for updates.
