President Donald Trump has expressed support for National Security Advisor Mike Waltz following an incident involving a private Signal group chat. A journalist was inadvertently added to the chat during a recent military operation, raising concerns about security protocols.

During a press briefing, President Trump addressed questions regarding potential disciplinary actions against those responsible for the mishap. He downplayed the need for punitive measures, attributing the incident to technological imperfections rather than negligence.

Trump voiced his confidence in Waltz's abilities and stated that an apology was unnecessary. "We’ve pretty much looked into it. It’s pretty simple, to be honest," he said, emphasizing that such occurrences are sometimes unavoidable with modern communication tools.

The president acknowledged that while technology can have its flaws, it remains essential in certain situations despite its limitations. He noted that although the operation's details were not classified, it was deemed a significant success for the United States.

When asked if there might have been a mistake in declaring the operation non-classified and whether an apology was warranted, Trump responded: "No, I don’t think he should apologize. I think he’s doing his best."

Mike Waltz agreed with Trump's assessment, stating the importance of gathering people physically whenever possible to avoid similar issues in the future.
