Left-wing commentator Van Jones recently appeared on CNN to discuss the reaction among Democrats following Chuck Schumer's decision to vote in favor of keeping the government open. Jones described an unprecedented level of anger directed at Schumer from within his own party.

According to Jones, "I've never seen this level of volcanic anger at a Democrat, ever." He highlighted that for Democrats, the issue is driven by emotion, particularly regarding their opposition to Donald Trump and Elon Musk's influence over the party.

Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) had been considered a key figure in the Senate Democratic Caucus after Harry Reid's passing. However, his decision not to engage in a government shutdown battle with the Trump White House has led to significant discontent. Many Democrats now seem ready to distance themselves from him.

Schumer's rationale was based on preventing an atypical shutdown that could allow Trump to further reduce the federal workforce. The continuing resolution was deemed clean, with no substantial grounds for opposition other than disapproval of Trump. According to some reports, Nancy Pelosi was encouraging rebellion against Schumer before the Senate advanced and passed the continuing resolution.

Jones noted that this fallout will be challenging for Schumer as he faces what he described as a "volcanic eruption of outrage" from fellow Democrats.
