Severe weather hits St. Louis with tornado warnings and large hail

A severe storm impacted the St. Louis region in eastern Missouri on Friday night, bringing tornadoes and hail. Local news outlet St. Louis Channel 4 reported hail measuring 1.5 inches in diameter falling across the area.

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for several counties including St. Louis City, St. Clair County, St. Louis County, Madison County, Jefferson County, and Monroe County.

"Tornado Warning including Saint Louis MO, Belleville IL and Oakville MO until 10:15 PM CDT," stated a tweet from NWS St. Louis.

Dr Margaret Aranda Ferrante tweeted about the ongoing situation: "Tornado sirens are going off, blaring. A confirmed tornado is on the ground near St. Louis, Missouri metro area."
