During a recent episode of his podcast, Joe Rogan discussed the declining ratings of liberal media outlets. He cited a specific example involving the New York Times and RFK Jr., where the newspaper attempted to fact-check Kennedy's claims about chemicals in Froot Loops cereal. According to Rogan, the Times inadvertently confirmed Kennedy's statements but still insisted he was wrong.
Rogan remarked on the situation by stating, "I was just reading something about CNN’s ratings and MSNBC’s ratings post-election – they’ve crashed," during Wednesday's episode. He continued, "All these left-wing kooks on YouTube are hemorrhaging subscribers. Where people go, ‘You guys are out of touch, you’re not accurate, you’re delusional.’ And people are speaking with their subscriptions and they’re speaking with their purchasing of the Washington Post and their purchasing of the New York Times."
He elaborated on how the New York Times published what he described as a confusing fact-check regarding Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s assertion that certain artificial ingredients in Froot Loops differ between Canada and the United States. Rogan noted, "The New York Times just debunked – in the most insane way – debunked RFK Jr’s assertion that the ingredients in Froot Loops are different in Canada than they are in the United States. They fact-checked it while saying he was accurate."
Adding his commentary, Rogan emphasized that these chemicals are banned in Canada and should be removed from products in America. He concluded that although RFK Jr.'s claim was dismissed as incorrect by the Times, it was indeed correct.
Rogan criticized liberal media for catering exclusively to a hard-left audience, suggesting this approach has led them into a precarious position: "The left wing press has painted themselves into a corner. They catered to a hard left audience and that’s all they have now. If they suddenly change, they’ll lose that audience share too. It’s a death spiral."
