Eric Trump recently appeared on the Sean Hannity show on FOX News, expressing his views that the media has lost its credibility. He referred to the coverage of the 2024 campaign, stating that most news stories about his father, Donald Trump, were negative while those about Kamala Harris were positive.
Eric Trump stated: "The media has lost all credibility. My father won the popular vote by about 5 million votes, so the largest electoral college victory in 50 or 60 years in this country." He criticized what he described as a biased media landscape against his father during the campaign.
He recalled past relationships with media figures who he claimed changed their stance after Donald Trump's political involvement. "You see Joe and Mika on MSNBC every morning trashing my dad every morning. They used to spend weekends at Mar-a-Lago," Eric Trump mentioned. He also named Oprah Winfrey, Erin Burnett, Anderson Cooper, and Don Lemon among others who he said were friendly before Donald Trump's presidential run.
Eric Trump argued that despite knowing his family personally, these individuals shifted their perspectives when Donald Trump entered politics. "They knew his heart and soul... but it all changed when he went down that escalator," he added.
In Eric Trump's view, one of the significant impacts of the 2024 election was a reduction in media influence over voters compared to previous years.
