Cooling

City of Stonecrest issued the following announcement on June 18.

DeKalb County is making most recreation centers and libraries throughout the county available as cooling centers due to the ongoing heat advisory.

For a list of DeKalb County recreation centers, visit,  www.dekalbcountyga.gov/parks and click the “Recreation Programs and Centers” button. Hamilton, Lucious, Sanders and Midway recreation centers will not function as cooling locations according to the County.

Individuals accessing the cooling centers must follow the County’s COVID-19 protocols, which include wearing a mask, social distancing and undergoing a temperature check.

Seniors needing additional assistance should call the Senior Link Line at (770) 322-2950.

Additionally, the DeKalb County Community Development Department is housing homeless residents in local hotels and motels.
