If you attended Lovett as a middle schooler, you may have thought you left the Hopes and Dreams conferences behind. This year, the Upper School gave students, parents, and advisees a chance to meet to talk about the student’s goals. In the past, the first Upper School conferences were in October, and the focus was on mid-semester grades.

Back on the Bank: As New Dean, Nick Howell Gains A New Perspective
When I walked into Mr. Howell’s office in the upper school admin suite, he was working on one of the fifteen college recommendations that he had agreed to write. When I asked details about how he was to write all of those he proceeded to tell me that he writes “quality over quantity.” He only takes on student recs for students he knows really well because he wants to be able to write meaningful recommendations.

At the beginning of the year, all upper school students are drug tested. After this universal drug testing period in August or September, any student in the high school is subject to random drug testing up to two times.
