Representative Anna Paulina Luna, who heads the Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets, has highlighted newly declassified documents that suggest President John F. Kennedy sought help from the Soviet Union to address rogue elements within the CIA before his assassination. The release of around 80,000 pages related to Kennedy's death in 1963 has rekindled discussions about the event.

Among the first set of declassified files is a 1967 memo involving former U.S. Army intelligence officer Gary Underhill. Underhill claimed that a "small clique within the CIA" played a role in Kennedy's assassination. He reportedly left Washington, D.C., in distress after the assassination, fearing for his life and alleging that this group was involved in illegal activities such as gun-running and drug trafficking. Underhill believed Kennedy had uncovered these operations and was killed before he could expose them. He died six months later under suspicious circumstances, which were ruled a suicide by the coroner.

Rep. Luna discussed with Benny Johnson how these new files indicate Kennedy actively sought Russian assistance in identifying rogue CIA agents shortly before his murder in Dallas. She argued that these findings validate long-held suspicions that the Warren Commission's conclusions were deliberately misleading to protect those truly responsible.

Benny Johnson remarked on predictive programming found within several documents, noting mentions of Lee Harvey Oswald's fate and various international interests in Kennedy's death. Rep. Luna emphasized concerns about intelligence agencies acting independently at that time and referenced numerous witnesses whose testimonies contradict official narratives like the "magic bullet" theory.

Luna also noted JFK allegedly asked Russia for information on rogue CIA agents shortly before his assassination, implying a possible connection between his inquiries and subsequent death. She stated her team is focusing on 20 critical documents believed to provide greater clarity on this historical event.

Rep. Luna hopes an upcoming hearing will help reset historical perceptions of John F. Kennedy using facts from these newly released documents, allowing Americans to form their own conclusions.
