Tammy Bruce, the newly appointed spokeswoman for the U.S. State Department, held her first press briefing on Thursday. During the session, she highlighted key actions taken by the department under Secretary Marco Rubio's leadership.

Bruce discussed various topics including Marco Rubio's initiatives in Central America, the capture of Mohammad Sharifullah involved in the Abbey Gate bombing, and the designation of the Houthis as a terror group. She also mentioned ongoing efforts to bring back American hostages held abroad.

In her statement, Bruce said: "Thank you all very much. I’m Tammy Bruce, the spokesperson for the U.S. State Department... It is an honor to join you today for my first briefing at the State Department."

She emphasized her commitment to communicate clearly about policies and priorities under Secretary Rubio and President Trump's administration: "Under President Trump’s administration, the State Department puts America first as well. Peace through strength is back and our north star is the pursuit of peace."

Bruce noted that Secretary Rubio has been proactive since his confirmation: "Secretary Rubio got straight to work, issuing common-sense policies that returned the State Department to the basics of diplomacy." She also highlighted his recent trip to Central America and efforts to combat transnational crime and counter China's influence.

A video of Bruce's press briefing was shared on social media with her remarking on her dedication to speaking directly about departmental policies.
