DeKalb County opens warming centers amid forecasted cold weather

DeKalb County has announced the opening of four warming centers for residents on Wednesday, March 5, due to expected cold weather conditions. The centers will open at 8 p.m. and are located at Frontline Response International in Atlanta, North DeKalb Senior/Community Center in Chamblee, Mason Mill Recreation Center in Decatur, and Exchange Park Intergeneration Center also in Decatur.

Transportation services to Frontline Response International will be available during the activation of these warming centers. Pickup locations include Chamblee Library, North DeKalb Senior/Community Center, Mason Mill Recreation Center, Avondale Fire Station No. 3, a location on Candler Road in Decatur, D&K Suit City Parking Lot in Stone Mountain, another site on Wesley Chapel Road in Decatur, and Exchange Park Intergeneration Center.

Frontline Response International is tasked with assisting individuals during extreme weather conditions by providing centralized services such as hot meals and beds. DeKalb County offers transportation from all its warming centers to Frontline for those who want to access these centralized services.
