President Trump is set to address a Joint Session of Congress on March 4, 2025. This speech comes after his first month in office, during which border crossings reportedly reached historic lows and peace efforts in the Middle East were highlighted.
House Speaker Mike Johnson extended the invitation for this address, marking President Trump's first formal speech to both chambers during his second term. Traditionally, new U.S. presidents deliver such addresses early in their terms, although it is not considered the official State of the Union.
Jason Miller, Senior Advisor to President Trump, shared insights into the upcoming speech with Fox's Charlie Hurt. According to Miller, key topics will include Biden's inflation crisis, wasteful government spending identified by the Department of Government Efficiency, tax legislation from Congress, and border security. Additionally, developments in space exploration and artificial intelligence are expected to be discussed.
Miller indicated that President Trump would focus on "making sure that we continue to bring peace and stability around the world," emphasizing respect and strength as crucial elements. The speech may also cover Trump's approach towards Ukraine and Russia following recent tensions with Ukrainian President Zelensky.
The advisor noted that tackling inflation remains a priority for Trump’s administration alongside securing energy prices and reducing government expenditure. The president aims to advance tax reforms already initiated by Congress and ensure permanent border security.
Miller expressed enthusiasm about future-oriented initiatives like reaching Mars and winning the AI race against China. Energy policy is also on the agenda with discussions around a Marshall Plan for energy being anticipated.
