James Carville, a well-known political commentator, has recently expressed his dissatisfaction with Kamala Harris's candidacy. During a live event for "Firing Line," Carville compared Harris to a "seventh string" quarterback and criticized her ability to articulate effectively.

"We ran a presidential election. If we were playing a Super Bowl, we started our 7th-string quarterback. That’s what happened," Carville stated, emphasizing the need for honesty in addressing problems within the party.

Carville continued by highlighting the untapped potential within the Democratic Party. He remarked, "If you had the staggering talent that exists in today’s Democratic Party... people would have seen that they’d have gone, I didn’t know they had people like that, can actually complete a sentence."

He lamented the lack of inspirational presidential candidates since 2012 and stressed the importance of engaging diverse groups from across the country to energize political involvement.

The video of Carville's remarks was shared on social media by Eric Abbenante on February 1, 2025.

Carville has been vocal about his concerns regarding his party's direction, particularly its alignment with progressive elements. He believes this shift is detrimental to their electoral success but acknowledges it as an integral part of their current base.
