LOADS OF LOVE!

The St. Pius X Alumni Association presents the 2nd annual PiHi Day of service on Monday, January 16, 2023. Members of the St. Pius X  community are invited to participate in a service project wherever they reside. Photos will be shared via social media.

For alumni in Atlanta, we have an opportunity in conjunction with Catholic Charities Atlanta. The laundry drive "Loads of Love" benefits the residents of St. Joseph Place, an independent living community for low-income seniors offering affordable housing in peaceful, wooded setting minutes from downtown Atlanta. We are asking our local St. Pius X community to donate supplies for the 47 residents (mostly women) of St. Joseph Place to use for the basic need of doing laundry.

The following items are requested to create "loads of love" baskets for this vulnerable group of senior citizens.

1. Laundry baskets

2. Detergent

3. Fabric softener

4. Stain remover spray/pens

5. Dryer sheets

6. Hangers

7. Quarters (the machines are coin-operated)

8. In addition, rolling laundry carts would also be helpful.

Please note that all of these items are available at Dollar Tree. The residents have a coin-operated laundry facility, so quarters are a necessity. Quarter donations are greatly appreciated and can be put in a small ziplock bag. The suggested amount is $2-$5 dollars. Thank you for your generosity.

Drop-off site for supplies: The Donnellan Center - Alumni Office, Monday, January 9 through Friday, January 13, 2023.

Laundry Drive Service Project: Monday, January 16, 2023, from 10:00 -11:30 a.m. in the St. Pius X cafeteria. Please direct all questions to Karoline Brennan.
