This July, join Brookhaven Parks and Recreation to celebrate how Brookhaven is stronger, more vibrant, and more resilient because of parks and recreation. Brookhaven Parks and Recreation is celebrating Park and Recreation Month, an initiative of the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), by inviting our community to share their experiences, memories, and stories about what parks and recreation means to them. This month, the Parks and Recreation department will have plenty of programs and activities to show how they rise up for health and well-being, environmental resilience, economic impact, and for our community members through programs and activities.
NRPA and Brookhaven Parks and Recreation Department encourage everyone who supports parks and recreation to share how it has improved their quality of life, as well as why their local park and recreation professionals are important to them, on social media with the hashtag #RiseUpJuly and #playinbrookhaven
Community members are invited join the Parks and Recreation Department at the Poolside Picnic, which will be held at the Briarwood Recreation Pool, 2235 Briarwood Way, on July 16 from 12-3 p.m.
