President Donald Trump has signed an executive order revoking the security clearances of several prominent figures, including Hillary Clinton and Kamala Harris. The decision was announced on Friday and affects individuals described by Trump as "radical leftist cabal" members.
The list includes former government officials such as Antony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, Lisa Monaco, Letitia James, Alvin Bragg, Andrew Weissmann, Elizabeth Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, Fiona Hill, Alexander Vindman, and Joseph R. Biden Jr., along with his family.
In the executive order, Trump stated: “I have determined that it is no longer in the national interest for the following individuals to access classified information.” He directed all executive departments and agencies to revoke any active security clearances held by these individuals and rescind their access to classified information.
Trump's directive also includes instructions to revoke unescorted access to secure U.S. Government facilities for those named. It specifies that if any of these individuals received a security clearance through private employment, the granting entity should be informed of its revocation.
Tulsi Gabbard confirmed earlier this month that she had executed Trump's orders by revoking the security clearances of those listed. She announced on social media: “Per @POTUS directive, I have revoked security clearances and barred access to classified information for Antony Blinken, Jake Sullivan, Lisa Monaco...”
This move follows previous actions by Gabbard to restrict access to classified briefings like the President’s Daily Brief from former President Biden.
