Vice President JD Vance delivered a speech in Germany, urging European leaders to join the United States in pursuing greater freedoms and addressing illegal immigration. Some European elites present did not respond positively to his message.
Conservative scholar Victor Davis Hanson offered an analysis on FOX News, suggesting why EU leaders reacted negatively. He stated, "They're the international version of the Democrats," and added that Vance's message emphasized shared Western culture and criticized policies such as open borders and deindustrialization.
Hanson also appeared on Newsmax, where he suggested that Donald Trump and the MAGA movement are setting an example for the West. He remarked, "Donald Trump and the MAGA movement is basically not only saving the United States, it’s saving the West."
Hanson advised EU leaders to adopt policies similar to those of Trump by embracing bipartisanship and economic reforms. He noted, "If they were wise, make constructive criticism, join Trump and try to be bipartisan."
The reaction from European leaders highlights differing perspectives on immigration and economic policy between them and their American counterparts.
