During a recent episode of "The Five" on FOX News, host Greg Gutfeld expressed his views on former President Donald Trump's first week back in office. Gutfeld commented on the significant progress he believes Trump has made, stating that it feels like America has a real leader again. He suggested that people are feeling positive because actions are being taken and those in need are receiving help.
Gutfeld remarked that Trump has "flooded the field," implying that he has overshadowed many of his critics. In a partial transcript provided by Real Clear Politics, Gutfeld stated: "Just stepping back, I just feel like, are there any politicians or political parties left? Like I feel as though Trump has flooded the zone. He’s disappeared Democrats from the game board, but also any kind of like, never Trumpy Republican, are they — do they still exist?"
He further noted: "I don’t think there’s been any Republican president that’s had a week like this. I don’t remember it. The party has never been this effective or successful in my — in my lifetime."
Gutfeld attributed Trump's success to his executive orders and criticized Democrats for not accepting solutions earlier. He said: "It was a failure, not just of common sense, but also a failure of will." According to Gutfeld, Trump listens to people and takes action based on their input.
He contrasted Trump's approach with what he perceives as the previous administration's lack of responsiveness: "But if you were in a disaster or a catastrophe, if you’re a victim...it would never get to Biden."
