Filmmaker and author Dinesh D’Souza has called for an investigation into the Senate election involving Kari Lake, following a review of vote totals compared to former President Trump's performance in Arizona. Trump led by several points, while Lake narrowed her opponent's lead as votes were counted post-election. However, despite expectations of continued Republican gains, Democrat Ruben Gallego currently leads Lake by nearly 80,000 votes with over 98% counted statewide.

D'Souza questioned the results: “We are now being asked to believe something that confutes any kind of common sense,” suggesting that voter patterns in Maricopa County and other areas did not align with those in the Senate race. He pointed out discrepancies such as Republican Justin Heap's victory for Maricopa County Recorder by about 80,000 votes and Trump's 70,000 vote lead in the same county where Lake reportedly lost by over 100,000 votes.

Kari Lake released a video thanking supporters without conceding defeat and expressed excitement for future political developments alongside Trump and Republican majorities.

D'Souza highlighted concerns regarding vote counting in Maricopa County. According to The Gateway Pundit, the individual responsible for mail-in vote counting had previously run an anti-MAGA political action committee and sued Lake for defamation. This person allegedly described himself as someone whose mission was to "make life hell for Kari Lake."

Further scrutiny was drawn to increased post-election day vote counts in Pima and Yuma counties. D'Souza stated on X: "I make the case for auditing @KariLake’s close Senate race, given Trump’s impressive win in the state." He noted challenges due to Arizona's current leadership but suggested potential involvement from the Arizona Legislature or Trump's Department of Justice.

D'Souza emphasized anomalies without alleging definitive cheating but argued these warranted investigation beyond a simple recount. He cited unusual changes in reported vote totals post-election day as grounds for further inquiry.
