The media's focus on Kamala Harris as a contender in the 2024 presidential race has not swayed liberal pollster Nate Silver. According to Silver, former President Donald Trump remains the likely winner in November.
Despite significant efforts by Democrats to revitalize their campaign with Harris on the ticket, Silver maintains that Trump is still favored. His election forecast model indicates that Trump has a 61.3% chance of winning the Electoral College, while Vice President Kamala Harris stands at 38.1%.
Previously, Silver had predicted a 65.7% chance of victory for Trump over President Biden when he introduced his model last month. In his latest analysis, he notes slight national advantages for Trump and in most battleground states, though Harris leads in Wisconsin.
Commenting on these predictions, Jazz Shaw from Hot Air remarked: "So Nate Silver sees Donald Trump’s chance of victory having dropped from 65.7% to 61.3%. Meanwhile, Kamala Harris has crept up from the mid-30s to 38.1%. That’s still a fairly healthy margin." Shaw also emphasized that Silver's reputation as an election analyst stems from basing forecasts on data rather than personal political preferences.
Silver's projections continue to be influential across various media platforms such as CNN and Fox News, reinforcing his status as a leading figure in election analysis.
