In recent developments from Venezuela, significant political tensions have emerged. The Maduro regime has intensified its actions against opposition leaders, with an arrest warrant reportedly issued for María Corina Machado, a prominent opposition figure. This move comes amid ongoing accusations of electoral fraud and manipulation by Nicolás Maduro's government.

Santiago Abascal, leader of Spain's VOX party, shared a wanted poster on social media, highlighting the U.S. government's $15 million reward for information leading to Maduro's arrest. The charges against him include drug trafficking and corruption.

The president of the Supreme Court of Justice in exile declared that a technical report from the Organization of American States (OAS) demonstrates Maduro's efforts to maintain power through undemocratic means. "Results without formal public records should not receive democratic recognition," he stated.

The OAS report further detailed irregularities in Venezuela's electoral process, citing manipulation and repression as key issues undermining transparency in the 2024 elections. These findings have led several countries, including Peru, to recognize Edmundo González Urrutia as Venezuela's elected president.

Meanwhile, Mark Zuckerberg removed Nicolás Maduro’s verification badge from Facebook and Instagram, reducing his reach on these platforms. Elon Musk hinted at similar actions on X (formerly Twitter), emphasizing Meta’s focus on authenticity and security.

Jorge Rodríguez, President of the National Assembly and Maduro’s campaign chief, accused opposition leaders of destabilizing Venezuela with plans that would allegedly harm vulnerable populations while benefiting elites.

Amidst these political struggles, Costa Rica announced it would offer asylum to those facing persecution in Venezuela. This includes María Corina Machado and Edmundo González Urrutia.

Venezuela continues to face severe challenges as international scrutiny grows over its electoral integrity and governance practices.
