DeKalb County Police responded to bomb threats at six voting precincts, conducting thorough searches and finding no explosive devices. The threats were reported around 5 p.m., prompting immediate action by law enforcement to ensure the safety of voters and poll workers.

The police department conducted bomb sweeps at New Bethel AME Church in Lithonia, North DeKalb Senior Center in Chamblee, Reid H. Cofer Library in Tucker, Wesley Chapel Library and New Life Community Center in Decatur, and Briarwood Recreation Center in Atlanta.

Additionally, threats were made against two locations that are not active polling sites: Stonecrest (Old Sam’s Club) and Salem Panola Library in Lithonia.

Voting was temporarily halted at the affected precincts as a precautionary measure. After receiving clearance from the police, voters were allowed to return to cast their ballots.

In response to these events, "The DeKalb County Law Department is in the process of seeking an emergency order extending the voting times at the affected polling locations."
