Last week, comedian Adam Carolla gained attention for his video discussing the impact of California fires and how state bureaucracy might hinder residents from rebuilding. Josh Altman, a well-known real estate agent in California, has echoed these concerns.

Altman highlighted that many people affected by the fires may not be able to afford rebuilding their homes. Some might choose to relocate instead of waiting through lengthy reconstruction processes. Even those with sufficient funds might prefer not to live amidst ongoing construction.

According to a report by FOX News, Josh Altman from "Million Dollar Listing" anticipates significant changes in Pacific Palisades following the fires. He does not expect most families to return. In an interview with Fox News Digital, Altman shared insights on how the Los Angeles fires have impacted Southern California residents and what lies ahead.

Altman's insurance agent indicated that “90-plus percent of these people are heavily underinsured.” He predicts that “65-70% of the people do not go back to the Palisades or Malibu,” based on numerous inquiries he has received from individuals seeking new neighborhoods.

He noted receiving calls from people unwilling to remain in fire-prone areas, saying, “You have to realize there have been multiple fires. … Is lightning going to strike twice? It’s going to happen again." He believes that many lack the resources or willingness to endure another building process.

A recent statement on social media by Collin Rugg quoted Altman as saying that half of those who lived in the Palisades will likely move elsewhere, either out of state or within regions like Orange County. Many homeowners were uninsured and unable to rebuild.

California leaders such as Gavin Newsom have promised efforts to reduce bureaucratic hurdles for quicker rebuilding. However, skepticism remains about these promises' fulfillment given the extensive damage and anticipated lengthy recovery period.
