The DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management has issued a boil water advisory for certain areas within the county. This advisory affects residents east of Moreland Avenue, west of Candler Street/Clairemont Avenue, south of Mason Mill, and north of Hosea Williams Drive. Notably, those who receive their water from the City of Atlanta are not impacted.

Residents in the affected regions are advised to boil water for drinking, cooking, or preparing baby food until further notice. The department emphasizes that water should be boiled for at least one minute after reaching a rolling boil. This measure is mandated by both the department's standard procedures and guidance from the Georgia Environmental Protection Division following a drop below the 20 PSI threshold due to a water main break.

As service resumes, some customers might encounter brown water and are encouraged to run their faucets to clear out any discolored water. Increased testing of water samples will be conducted in response to this issue.

For those in need of bottled water, distribution centers have been set up at several fire stations and other locations across the area:

- Fire Station 1 – 1670 Clifton Rd.

- Fire Station 3 – 24 N. Clarendon Ave.

- Fire Station 7 – 1712 Columbia Dr.

- Fire Station 9 – 3858 N. Druid Hills Rd.

- Fire Station 20 – 2919 Warren Rd.

- RaceTrac – 3630 Clairmont Rd.

Residents experiencing issues or seeking further information can contact the DeKalb County Department of Watershed Management via email at dekalbwaterops@dekalbcountyga.gov or by phone at 770-270-6243.

DeKalb County assures residents that they will be kept informed throughout this process with regular updates through official communication channels. The county apologizes for any inconvenience caused and appreciates the community’s patience as efforts continue to restore full service.
