The Biden campaign released a memo to reporters following the recent debate with President Trump. The debate, held at Joe Biden's request in late June, was an attempt to shift the dynamics of a campaign where he is either tied or trailing Trump in national and key swing state polls.

Despite this strategic move, Biden's performance did not improve his standing. Instead, there are increasing calls from liberal circles for him to withdraw from the race. In response, the campaign issued a memo stating that "on every metric that matters, data shows it did nothing to change the American people’s perception."

Rachel Bade from Politico reacted skeptically to this statement, questioning its seriousness on social media. The memo also referenced strong post-debate fundraising of $27 million and cited historical precedent from the 2012 Obama campaign as evidence that recovery is possible after initial setbacks.

Campaign co-chair Jen O’Malley Dillon highlighted stable polling results and increased volunteer interest as positive outcomes post-debate. Connell McShane of NewsNation shared parts of the memo on social media, raising questions about Biden's ability to fulfill presidential duties despite these claims.
